As we begin the new school year, we are also going to begin using a new website.  The website will be live on Monday 8/15/11.  I am looking forward to working with all of you this year.  Enjoy your last weekend of no school.  See you Monday.

Alphabet Alliteration Poem
In alliteration, each important word in the line begins with the same letter. These poems end up being crazy, nonsense poems. Use your imagination and alliteration skills to write three words for each alphabet letter. If you want to, write longer alliteration phrases.
The first word should be an adjective (word describing a noun), followed by a noun (the subject - the person or thing), followed by a verb (showing the action that the subject does).

Math:
Each night we will be working on a different review concept.  So each night they need to complete the work that is not finished in class.  It would also be a good idea to practice those Multiplication facts so head on over to the math section and play some math games.

This past week, a couple of students have be rewarded with a "No Homework Pass" and might want to use them this week.  It will excuse them from their Math homework.  They do still need to work on the Portfolio.

Language Arts: We do have spelling words, but no spelling contract.  Please work on the your Across the Wide Dark Sea portfolio.  
Math:  Chapter 28 Match packet.  - Units of measurement.  

Visit the Switcharoo Zoo and "discover" a new animal.  Once you are finished "discovering," click on the camera.  Give your animal a name and then write about it.  What it eats, where it lives, what does it sound like, etc..  I cannot wait to read your story.  Make sure to print it out when you are finished.  We will add this assignment to your portfolio.
